“There's a
time each year,
that we always hold dear;
good old summer time;
With the birds and the trees's,
and sweet scented breezes;
good old summer time;
When your day's work is over,
then you are in clover,
and life is one beautiful rhyme;
No trouble annoying,
each one is enjoying;
the good old summer time”

Summer Musings 09…. Spring has faded into summer and the planted
crop is maturing for an autumn harvest.
Vegetative life never lacks the energy to start new each year and
mature to reproducing its kind. Each plant takes time to grow before it can
produce a fruit. Summertime
provides that time. Each goes
through a unique conception, producing a new life and then develops to
maturity to start the process all over again.
Life, in whatever vegetative form given by its divine creator,
continually wants to mature, beating extreme odds to survive and reproduce.
It constantly seeks another generation of its own.
Why is it so tenacious? Why,
in the midst of drought, disease, lack of food or even near destruction by
injury, it seeks to rebound and produce new life?
Could it be because its creator is the author of life and not death?
It is here that we should learn a valuable lesson.
We, also are His creation and need times of maturation, allowing
life’s stresses to be our teacher, developing maturity that will bless our
children and future generations. The
difference between us and vegetative life is that we have a will and can
choose what we will do with the odds that may be against us.
We can choose to develop and grow or we can refuse, become bitter and
never experience the maturity those odds could bring.
The choice is ours! What
will life’s summertime do for you? ~~~ me
